WARDOGS news: every official BULKHEAD announcement, live from Steam, with a reader's guide to what each kind of post means

WARDOGS news comes from one place before anywhere else: BULKHEAD's own announcements on the game's Steam page. Every patch, hotfix, maintenance window, milestone and devlog since the February 2026 reveal has gone there first, and press coverage follows it by hours. The list above is that feed, fetched from Steam's news API at most an hour ago, newest first, each entry linking to the original post. Nothing on this page is rewritten from another site.

Below the feed: what the different kinds of post look like, the studio's posting pattern in the launch fortnight, the other official channels (the locked Dev Updates thread on the Steam forum was where launch-night progress was reported hour by hour), and how to read a BULKHEAD post so that you catch the number that matters.

Kinds of post, and which ones change the game

Twenty-six posts went up between 9 February and 12 September 2026 — a rate that jumped from roughly one a month before pre-orders to nineteen in the seven weeks after 11 August. They sort into five kinds. Patches and changelogs (the Season 1 changelog of 9 September; patch 0.11 of 12 September) change prices, levels, systems and servers — read every line. Hotfixes (Launch Stability Hotfix #1, 10 September) change client behaviour immediately and often require a restart. Maintenance notices give a window in local times — the 0.11 notice listed fourteen zones. Milestones (100K, 200K, 500K and 1M wishlists; 1.25M copies) change nothing. Devlogs and event notices (Tactical Depth & Teamplay, Level Design & Performance, the livestream, the FPS Games Show) explain intent and future plans.

If you only read two posts a week, read the ones with a version number or the word 'changelog' in the title, and any with 'maintenance'. The patch-notes hub keeps every post in a table with our one-line classification.

The launch fortnight, post by post

9 September, 22:46 UTC — 'Pre-Load Live & Season 1 Changelog': the full launch rebalance (XP bands, fourteen price changes, eighteen unlock moves, thirteen performance fixes). 10 September, 10:24 — 'WARDOGS LAUNCH TRAILER': four lines, including 'COMING TO CONSOLES IN 2028'. 10 September, 20:20 — 'Launch Stability Hotfix #1': forced client restart, players re-admitted in batches. 11 September, 01:05 — '1.25 MILLION COPIES SOLD!'. 12 September, 22:26 — 'SCHEDULED MAINTENANCE & PATCH 0.11': the server-browser split, the 14 September maintenance table, the 5% community bonus, the economy-abuse penalties. Each of those has its own page on this site.

Between the Steam posts, launch night was narrated on the Steam forum. A locked thread titled 'Dev Updates', posted by G_Medlin (tagged as a developer, from Team17), logged the evening in UTC: at 5 pm 'currently rate limited and working with Valve directly to resolve this'; 6 pm, players filtering into matches; 7 pm, a server restart for 'an unforeseen stability issue absent from beta'; 8 pm, a required client update with everyone re-queued in waves; 8:30 pm, Hotfix #1 released; 11 pm, 135,000 players through the queue and in game; midnight, 'Queue issues should have passed now! Thank you for your patience.' That thread is the closest thing to a minute-by-minute record of the launch, and it is why the servers page treats the queue as a solved incident rather than a mystery.

Where else BULKHEAD talks

The Steam Q&A names three channels — 'Players will be able to engage with developers via Discord, X, and YouTube' — and the devlogs are YouTube videos embedded in Steam posts, so the Steam feed is a superset of the video announcements. The Steam forum carries pinned developer threads during incidents (the Dev Updates thread at launch; a 'Server Queues Update' thread during the 21 August beta, also by G_Medlin: 'The login queue is getting HAMMERED… we're letting in as many players as we possibly can per second'). Discord was where the beta-weekend queue explanation first appeared, according to players quoting it on the forum. And wardogs.com carries the legal and safety pages (EULA, Player Safety and Security & Enforcement, all updated 7 September 2026) and the server-hosting hub.

This page reads only the Steam announcements feed, because it is the one channel with a public API, timestamps and permanent URLs. Discord messages cannot be linked or verified after the fact, so nothing on this site is sourced to 'the devs said on Discord'.

The posts that changed prices, levels or servers

Only three posts in the feed alter how the game plays, and each has a page here. The Season 1 changelog (9 September): ten XP bands, two XP events, fourteen prices, eighteen unlock levels, six vehicle lines, twelve performance lines and one exploit fix — the document every price on this site comes from. Launch Stability Hotfix #1 (10 September): a client update that forced a restart and re-queued everyone so the studio could admit players 'in controlled batches'. Patch 0.11 (12 September, delivered 14 September): the Community/Official server-browser split, persistent server IDs, text search, a week of 5% extra end-of-match cash on community servers, more Asian capacity, and the penalties for economy abuse (timed ban plus cash and XP reset to zero; permanent ban for exploit tutorials).

Everything else in the feed is context: milestones, trailers, devlogs, event reminders, beta scheduling. Useful for understanding the studio, irrelevant to your loadout.

How to read a BULKHEAD post

Three habits will save you from bad second-hand summaries. First, the studio publishes exact numbers — '$2,500 to $7,500', 'level 55 to level 90', '5.7% slower' — so any summary that rounds or paraphrases has lost information; open the post. Second, changelogs are posted before the patch lands (a day before launch; two days before the 0.11 maintenance), so a post's date is not the date the change went live. Third, the studio owns its mistakes in the same channel — 'It's time we own up' opens patch 0.11 — which means an apology post usually carries a concrete change with it (the browser split, the 5% bonus) and is worth reading past the first paragraph.

The feed above shows the first 420 characters of each post with the BBCode stripped. Tables (the maintenance zones) and images do not survive that, so for any post about times or prices, click through.

What the press adds, and what it does not

PCGamesN, PC Gamer, Dexerto, TheGamer and others publish within hours of each Steam post, and some add interviews the feed does not have — PCGamesN's 12 September studio visit is the source for the 1.5 million sales figure and the launch-night queue mechanics, and GamesBeat's 7 September piece carries BULKHEAD's and BisectHosting's quotes on community hosting. Their beta-era guides also carry payout figures BULKHEAD never published. On this site press facts are always labelled 'per <outlet>, <date>'.

What the press does not add is anything about balance that is not in the changelog. If a site reports a price or an unlock level that is not in a BULKHEAD post, it is either beta-era, datamined, or invented; the money and classes pages list only the published values.

Reading the feed in other languages

The Steam feed is English-only from BULKHEAD, but the game ships in fourteen languages and patch 0.11 added Asian server capacity 'to support the interest coming from that region', with maintenance times listed for Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, China, Taiwan, Korea and Japan. Several fan sites translate the announcements; this page does not, and the original English post is the version to trust when a translated summary disagrees with it. Steam's own store-page localisation covers the listing, not the news posts.

Milestones, in the studio's own words

'100,000 Steam Wishlists, in just 3 days!' (10 February). 'Over 200,000 wishlists right here on Steam!' (18 February). '500,000 Steam Wishlists. Totally humbled.' (26 May). '1 MILLION WISHLISTS ON STEAM. Six months after revealing WARDOGS to the world.' (14 August). '1.25 MILLION COPIES SOLD! Thank you for your patience. Apologies for the delays.' (11 September). 'Thank you for helping us hit 400,000 Peak Concurrent Users.' (12 September, inside the 0.11 post). Milestone posts are the shortest in the feed and the most quoted; the player-count page keeps the numbers next to the live figure.

What to watch for next

Patch 0.11 named six community-server features 'in the pipeline' — favouriting, tiered priority queues, a Message of the Day prompt, improved warmup activities, disabling AFK kicks during seeding, team switching controls — and mentioned Season 2 content in work. The Steam Q&A promises seasonal updates and, further out, fighter jets and a deeper metagame. None has a date. When any of them is posted, it will appear at the top of the feed above within the hour, and the relevant page on this site will be updated with the post's date.

Questions people ask

Where does WARDOGS news come from?
BULKHEAD's official announcements on the game's Steam page. This page reads that feed through Steam's news API every hour.
Is there a WARDOGS roadmap?
Not a dated one. The Steam Early Access Q&A lists planned additions (more maps, weapons, vehicles including jets, deeper progression, a seasonal metagame), and patch 0.11 lists six community-server features in the pipeline.
When is the next WARDOGS update?
No date has been posted. Patch 0.11 went live on 14 September 2026; Season 2 content is in development.
Who is G_Medlin?
A Steam forum account tagged as a developer (Team17) that posted the locked 'Dev Updates' thread on launch night and the 'Server Queues Update' thread during the August beta.
Does BULKHEAD post on Discord?
Yes — the Steam Q&A names Discord, X and YouTube as developer channels. This site does not cite Discord because messages there cannot be linked or verified later.
Why does the feed show only part of each post?
It shows the first 420 characters with formatting stripped; tables and images do not survive, so click through for maintenance times and price lists.
Which WARDOGS post should I read first?
The Season 1 changelog of 9 September 2026 — every published price, XP band and unlock level is in it — then patch 0.11 for the server browser and the exploit penalties.
