Guide
WARDOGS price: $39.99 now, $49.99 then $59.99 planned, a $12.99 Supporter Pack, and nothing else for sale
The WARDOGS price is $39.99 on Steam in the United States and £36.99 in the UK, with no launch discount, as of 13 September 2026. That is the Early Access price and BULKHEAD says it is deliberately low: 'we plan for WARDOGS to be priced lower during Early Access, with a higher price at full release.' PCGamesN reports the steps as $49.99 and then $59.99 by version 1.0. The only other thing for sale is a $12.99 cosmetic Supporter Pack.
This page sets out every published price, what the money buys, what BULKHEAD has promised never to sell, and the refund position — with the sources. It does not review the game; the 'worth it' section quotes the numbers and leaves the verdict to you.
What it costs today
Steam's US listing: WARDOGS $39.99. WARDOGS – Supporter Edition (base game plus Supporter Pack) $49.99. WARDOGS – Supporter Pack alone $12.99. No discount at launch — the price history on the store shows 'initial' and 'final' both at $39.99. PCGamesN gives the UK price as £36.99. Other regions follow Steam's regional pricing, which the sources do not list.
| Product | Price | Contents |
|---|---|---|
| WARDOGS | $39.99 | The game (Early Access) |
| WARDOGS – Supporter Pack (DLC) | $12.99 | 3 faction weapon camos (Valkyra A-91, Lonestar Bushmaster, Manticore KH-2002), Little Bird 'Taxi' camo, hideable scoreboard icon, grenade and helmet bobbleheads |
| WARDOGS – Supporter Edition (bundle) | $49.99 | Game + Supporter Pack |
The planned increases
From the Steam Early Access Q&A: 'Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access? Yes, we plan for WARDOGS to be priced lower during Early Access. As new content, systems, and polish are added, we may raise the price closer to full release. Early Access players benefit from entering at a lower price while helping shape the game during its most formative stage.' BULKHEAD's own devlog framing, per the pre-order post, is 'stair stepped pricing'. PCGamesN put numbers on the stairs on 10 September: 'Bulkhead says it plans to gradually increase the price to $49.99 and eventually $59.99 by the time version 1.0 releases.'
No dates for the steps have been published. Early Access is expected to last 'around 1 to 2 years', so the $59.99 price is a 2027–2028 event on the studio's own estimate.
Price history so far
Short, because the game is four days old at the time of writing. Pre-orders opened on 11 August 2026 at the launch price, with guaranteed closed-beta access as the incentive rather than a discount. Early Access launched on 10 September at $39.99 with no launch sale; Steam's listing shows 'discount_percent: 0'. PCGamesN gives £36.99 for the UK. BULKHEAD's Supporter Edition and Supporter Pack were announced on 11 August and priced on the store at $49.99 and $12.99. No regional price list has been published by BULKHEAD; Steam's regional pricing applies and the store shows it per account.
| Date | Event | Price |
|---|---|---|
| 11 Aug 2026 | Pre-orders open with closed-beta access | $39.99 |
| 11 Aug 2026 | Supporter Edition announced | $49.99 (game + pack) |
| 10 Sep 2026 | Early Access launch, no discount | $39.99 / £36.99 |
| 10 Sep 2026 | Supporter Pack DLC | $12.99 |
| Unscheduled | First planned step (PCGamesN) | $49.99 |
| By 1.0 (2027–2028 est.) | Second planned step (PCGamesN) | $59.99 |
What BULKHEAD says it will never sell
Three promises, published on 11 August 2026 and repeated on the Supporter Pack's store page: '1. We will NOT monetize the game at any point during Early Access. 2. We will NEVER monetize in-game cash or gold bars, they must be earned through play. 3. We will NEVER allow you to directly purchase camos, camos should show that a player has worked hard to unlock that item not how much money they have.' The February FAQ's version: 'No Battlepass. No Pay to Win. No Nikki Minaj Skins. No Bullshit. Earn cosmetics by playing.'
The Supporter Pack is the stated exception — 'There will be no monetization on WARDOGS during Early Access with the sole exception of this optional supporter edition' — and it is camos and bobbleheads, which sits awkwardly with promise three; BULKHEAD's distinction is that the pack is a one-off supporter purchase rather than a camo store. In-game cosmetics otherwise come from Gold Bars, which are exchanged from cash earned in matches.
The Supporter Pack, item by item
From the DLC's store page, which repeats the 11 August announcement: three 'Starter Weapon' camos — a Valkyra-branded A-91 rifle camo, a Lonestar-branded Bushmaster camo, a Manticore-branded KH-2002 camo — a Little Bird helicopter 'Taxi' camo, a Supporter icon on the scoreboard 'can be hidden in settings', a grenade bobblehead and a helmet bobblehead. The names incidentally confirm three starter weapons (A-91, Bushmaster, KH-2002) and that each faction has its own, which is more than the wiki's weapons stub documents. Nothing in the pack affects stats, cash or XP; BULKHEAD's framing is 'for players who want to help support BULKHEAD and the future development of WARDOGS'.
Refunds and sharing
BULKHEAD's refund stance is more explicit than most: 'we encourage you to try out the game and refund if the game doesn't live up to your expectations' (11 August), and for Linux buyers, 'please, refund the game if you mistakenly bought it thinking you would be able to run Linux via Proton' (5 September, via GamingOnLinux). Steam's standard policy applies — within 14 days of purchase and under two hours of play — and the studio has not announced any extension.
The Steam listing carries the Family Sharing category, so one purchase can be shared across a household's accounts under Steam's rules (one player at a time, the owner can reclaim). Search interest in 'wardogs family share' is answered by that badge.

How the price compares with what the studio says it is selling
BULKHEAD's pitch is that $39.99 buys entry at the cheapest point of a rising curve plus a say in the game's direction: 'Early Access players benefit from getting in at a lower price and helping shape the game as it develops.' The counterweight is its own list of reasons not to buy — no regular content drops during Early Access, a focus on the core mode, and a game that Steam's boilerplate says 'may or may not change further'. The Supporter Pack is pitched as support, not content: 'for players who want to help support BULKHEAD and the future development of WARDOGS'.
On the numbers, the price is mid-range for the genre it names as its comparison set — the Steam listing and BULKHEAD's own posts invoke Battlefield-style all-out warfare, and PCGamesN's coverage frames it as a 'Battlefield challenger'. Whether $39.99 is fair for 37 weapons, 27 vehicles and three maps depends on how many hours the single mode holds you; the 'CZ Survivor' achievement (sixty minutes in the zone without dying) suggests individual matches alone can run past an hour. The one price fact that is not in dispute is that it will not go down: every official signal points up.
Is it worth $39.99? The numbers, not the verdict
What you get, per the sources: a 100-player, three-team mode on a 256 km² map with three maps, 37 weapons and 27 vehicles at launch (PCGamesN); persistent cash and six progression tracks; construction, destruction, proximity voice; 14 languages; a game that 1.5 million people bought in its first two days and 400,196 played at once on day three. What you do not get: a finished game — 'not complete and may or may not change further', in Steam's Early Access boilerplate — regular content drops during Early Access, a console version before 2028, or Linux support. Reviews on 13 September: 79.6% positive of 45,958, 'Mostly Positive', down from the 83% PCGamesN quoted a day earlier.
BULKHEAD's own advice is the most useful frame: watch '10 Reasons NOT to Buy WARDOGS' first, then buy, and refund inside two hours if it is not for you.
What is not on the bill
No subscription. No battle pass ('No Battlepass. No Pay to Win.'). No cash, gold or camo store during Early Access. No paid map or season packs announced — the Steam Q&A describes 'seasonal updates', and patch 0.11 refers to Season 2 content, without any price attached. Cosmetics beyond the Supporter Pack come from Gold Bars, which are exchanged from cash earned in matches and spent in the Black Market. The only future cost the studio has signalled is the sticker price itself rising toward $59.99, which affects new buyers, not owners.
Keys, discounts and the grey market
Searches for 'wardogs steam key', 'wardogs cheap' and 'wardogs key for sale' are common. The facts: the game is sold on Steam; BULKHEAD said on 11 August it had 'been capped on how many Steam Keys we can send externally', which is why beta access moved to pre-orders; and there is no published discount. The enforcement policy on wardogs.com lists 'buying, selling, renting or sharing accounts' among bannable conduct — that is accounts, not keys, but it is the line to know before buying anything outside Steam. We do not link key resellers.
